Synopsis

In 1968 Chicago, the city was on high alert due to events at the Democratic National Convention. Ida Blumenthal, recently abandoned by her emotionally disturbed husband, decides to place an ad in the Jewish Forward for men to have Shabbos dinner with her and her son. Ida wants to make sure that her son has a father figure in the home. Three unwitting men answer the ad. These Coconuts arrive for dinner only to reveal their true desires for love, home and a place to hang their hats. From the writers of “FUGU”, Howard Teichman and Steven G. Simon create a new comedy that will make you never forget what a Shabbos dinner is all about.
